I am Alizay Abid. I appeared in my AFNS Initial Test on 31 August 2026 at Lahore Centre. Alhamdulillah, I successfully passed my initial test.

My overall experience was good. The test mainly consisted of Verbal Intelligence, Non-Verbal Intelligence and Academic portions. The intelligence portion required speed and concentration, while the academic portion was mostly conceptual.

For verbal intelligence, there were questions from number series, alphabet series, analogy, odd one out, coding-decoding, directions and basic reasoning. Non-verbal questions included figure series, missing figures, pattern completion and rotations.

The academic portion was a mix of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English. Some questions were very direct while a few were conceptual.

Overall, the test was manageable if your concepts were clear. My advice to upcoming AFNS candidates is to practice intelligence questions daily, revise FSc Biology, Chemistry and Physics concepts, and focus on English grammar as well.
